New Zealand Book Council
The New Zealand Book Council is a national not-for-profit organisation founded as an Incorporated Society in 1972. Their work promotes the love of books and reading among all New Zealander’s and aims to introduce communities and readers across the country to New Zealand’s literary wealth.
The New Zealand Book Council provides support and advocacy for New Zealand writers, illustrators, and encourages reading for pleasure as an activity that has profound personal and socio-economic benefits.
They primarily do this with their online magazine, “”Booknotes Unbound””, and our school programmes, that bring New Zealand writers and illustrators to over 250 schools each year, through educational tours, workshops and class sessions.
